Today, we’re incredibly excited to announce the launch of our latest work: Netvue Lab Features, where all experimental functions will go to, and be optimized gradually according to your feedback. As the first lab feature, Human Detection is available on Netvue Home Cam and Orb Cam now. Here we would like to send a HUGE thank you to everyone who has joined our Beta Test program to make this feature accessible to everyone.

Where is the Lab Features?

Go to Netvue App— “Settings”— “General”— “Lab Features”.

Which devices is Lab Features available on?

At present, Lab Features is available on Netvue Home Cams and Orb Cams (1080p only). Application on other devices are under development and test.

Supported firmware version: 1275+
Supported App version: 5.9.0+ for iOS, 4.4+ for Android

Please upgrade to the latest version.

What is Human Detection?

Based on AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology, we can differentiate human body from general movements, such as trees and curtains. Netvue App will alert you while a human is detected. It helps you to see important informations and reduce unnecessary alerts.

a. When “Human Detection” is enabled, there will be two kinds of motion detection, human detection and other motion detection, which will show as two different icons on the upper left corner.

b. Enable “Human alert only”, means you will be notified only when it detects human, but you can still view all motion detections on the Notification list.

What are the currently existing problems of Human Detection?

It’s worth noting that as a lab feature, the performance of Human Detection may not be stable, with 70%-80% accuracy. For example, a cat may be detected as human. To further optimize this feature, we sincerely welcome your feedback.

More lab features are coming on the way, please stay tuned.

Welcome to share your using experience and tips here with other community members, please contact hi@netvue.com for any questions.
